A friend of mine recommended this place to us and we are all so pleased! They have two locations and we came here to the Central location to celebrate my BIL's birthday. It’s better than Hugo, which we just had for lunch a few days ago. The price point is also very reasonable! $350 per person and it includes a salad, steak, unlimited fries and a cream puff for dessert! The fries were very crispy and the steak was very flavourful and tender. It’s just a teeny bit too salty for us but otherwise we really enjoyed our cut. We also enjoyed the ambiance and their wonderful customer service!

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ALERT:

10/10 ! When have I ever given full points ? Never. But holy, at this price point they were offering an omakase that is on par with the $2000 omakse I last had. They were also super innovative with their sushi, and all of their combinations were very impressive. 14 dishes plus miso soup plus a salad at $3xx pp. The only draw back is that you have to stand eating, but it's probably a good thing when you are pigging out. You need that exercise.

This coffee/ donut shop is located in Chinatown. Again, I came here to try out their donuts because of the raving reviews posted all over instagram. My first impression of the store was relaxing and warm when I entered the store. The staff was also very friendly. I asked the front staff what was there best seller donut here, and she replied, "Our Tiramisu, Matcha, and Strawberry and cream are our best sellers here." I suppose my question was a big cue to her that this was my first visit, so she went on and introduced each flavour to me.

I chose the best seller Tiramisu and matcha because of a review I read online. I didn't choose the strawberry with cream because it's pretty easy to imagine what it would taste like, since it's just fresh cream with fresh strawberries.

Well, let me tell you that this hype did NOT disappoint. The donuts are a Brioche donut that's filled with a generous heap of flavoured whipped cream, and dusted with caster sugar all over the surface. The tiramisu flavour is filled with a coffee flavour cream which was infused with intense coffee liquor. I don't personally drink coffee but find this a great introductory for a coffee beginner. It paired well with the Brioche donut, because the coffee flavour did not overpower the taste of the donut. I was able to savour the rich butter from the bread. The texture of the donut was pillowy and fluffy. It sort of reminded me of a cross over of a Chinese sugar Egg Puffs (Sai Yong) and a Brioche.

The matcha flavour was so strong that it overpowered the Brioche flavour. But hey, as a matcha addict, I'm definitely not complaining here! I really enjoyed the level of matcha intensity and am so pleased with it. Most restaurants cheap out on the matcha powder and give out weak matcha products.
